penaltyarea.com and Knockout® Sportswear are pleased to announce our fourth annual summer goalkeeper camps!  The 2008 Knockout® Sportswear Goalkeeper Camp is a grueling 30-hour course designed for competitive minded goalkeepers of all ages and skill level. Goalkeepers will learn to correctly execute the various fundamental and tactical techniques of the soccer goalkeeper. Fundamental topics include: Catching, Falling and Diving, Deflecting and Boxing, 1v1 and Breakaway Play, Dealing with Crosses and Corner Kicks, and Distributing the Ball. Tactical topics include: Angle Play and Positioning, Dead Ball Situations, Land Runs, Managing the Wall, and instructional Communication. This course is designed to be both challenging and intense. Goalkeepers will work to improve Strength, Fitness, and Agility through Pressure Training, and Overload Training.  Finally, each goalkeeper receives a 125-point written evaluation and personalized development plan. Goalkeepers will leave camp with the tools they will need for success during the soccer season!  Goalkeepers will participate in twelve field sessions, six lecture sessions, and a video presentation.  Additionally, goalkeepers have an opportunity to attend a guest presentation entitled "The Road to College".  During this presentation goalkeepers will learn about the various levels of college-level soccer (NJCAA, NCCAA, NAIA, & NCAA), methods for recruiting and gaining exposure, and tips for taking advantage of athletic scholarships.  Designed for competitive-minded goalkeepers at every level of the game, the 2008 Knockout® Sportswear Goalkeeper Camp is perfect for recreational, developmental, competitive, premiership, high school, and university goalkeepers looking to take their game to the next level.

“I’d go so far as to say that Almunia will never play in Arsenal’s first-team again.  The man doesn’t even look like a goalkeeper.”
